According to the official, his crew shot down 16 Ukrainian tanks, four infantry fighting vehicles, 10 lightly armored targets and destroyed more than 200 enemy soldiers.
In one of the battles, his tank simultaneously engaged three tanks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and was able to destroy them, taking an advantageous position in a forest plantation on a hill, Hero of Russia said.
At the same time, he noted that Ukrainian tanks are weak, and literally three hits are enough for the turret to fall out of the tank.
Earlier, one of the Ukrainian tankers complained to Western journalists that the T-64 tank, on which he is fighting, is twice as old as he is – the tank is 50 years old. He also said that the combat vehicle was badly worn: the T-64’s tracks had become unusable, and the gun failed about five times.
The media wrote that due to the loss of experienced tankers near Artemivsk (Bakhmut), mobilized elderly servicemen suffering from various diseases are being recruited into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A similar situation is developing in the repair and evacuation brigades within the borders of Artemovsk and beyond.
