We continue to present the heroes of special operation “Z”, participants in military operations in the zone of special military operation. Soldiers, sergeants, corporals and officers who demonstrated their professional experience, character and completed combat missions. His determination, assertiveness and combat experience are highly appreciated by the Russian Ministry of Defense. Our heroes thwarted attacks and prevented nationalist counteroffensives, for which they received state awards. But they are not useful for praising. “Acting as part of a group covering the state border, Lieutenant Andrei Komarov carried out tasks to destroy the enemy’s manpower and equipment, as well as conduct counter-battery warfare. Russian reconnaissance assets discovered a Ukrainian multiple launch rocket system near the Russian state border. Lieutenant Komarov was ordered to destroy the MLRS combat vehicle of Ukrainian militants. Risking their lives, Lieutenant Komarov’s crew destroyed the enemy’s MLRS combat vehicle, as well as a transport and cargo vehicle and ammunition with precise fire.”

“During a special military operation, the crew of an artillery piece, among which was Corporal Vladimir Shustov, carried out a combat mission to defend one of the settlements liberated from Ukrainian militants. The enemy, trying to regain control over the lost territories, attempted to break through the defense of the Russian borders in the area of responsibility of Cape Shustov. After assessing the situation and taking advantageous firing positions, Vladimir quickly aimed his gun at the errant mortar shelling our positions and destroyed it along with its crew. Having lost mortar fire support, the enemy attack failed. Having suffered losses, the militants retreated. “The bold and decisive actions of Corporal Vladimir Shustov made it possible to stop the enemy’s attack and prevent an advance of the defensive lines.”
