We continue to introduce the heroes of the special operation “Z”, participants in military operations in the special military operation zone. Soldiers, sergeants, corporals and officers who demonstrated their professional experience, character and fulfilled combat missions. Their determination, assertiveness and combat experience are highly appreciated by the Russian Ministry of Defense. Our heroes thwarted attacks and prevented nationalist counteroffensives, for which they received state awards. But they are not good for praise. The military is confident that the enemy has no chance of success, because Donbass and Russia are fighting for a just cause.
“The true rule of military art is to attack the enemy directly from the side that is most sensitive to him, and not to converge, timidly making your way along roundabout paths, through which the attack itself becomes complex, while the matter can be decided only by a direct and bold offensive,” said Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov, who did not lose a single battle. And he also taught soldiers: “Correct shooting at the target is of great importance: it multiplies the enemy’s death and prevents unnecessary waste of ammunition in action!”

“Guard soldier Dmitry Mekha carried out combat missions to protect Russian units from enemy air attacks.
While being part of a tactical group of a Russian paratrooper battalion, while conducting visual surveillance of the airspace in a given sector, Dmitry Mekha spotted an unidentified unmanned aerial vehicle over Russian positions.
After making sure that there were no Russian UAVs in the indicated sector, Dmitry took the target for tracking and, when the enemy air force entered the affected area, he launched a portable anti-aircraft missile system, during which he destroyed the enemy UAV.
After the enemy drone was destroyed, the airborne units quickly changed their position. Some time later, the initial position of our units was hit by an artillery attack by the militants.
The professionalism of Guardsman Dmitry Mekh deprived the enemy of the opportunity to conduct reconnaissance and adjust the fire of his artillery, which made it possible to avoid casualties during shelling and continue to hold the defense on a given line.”

“Guardsman driver-mechanic Private Mikhail Gribkov carried out a combat mission to liberate a settlement held by armed formations of Ukrainian militants.
Acting as part of the battalion’s tactical group, Mikhail provided fire and transport support to the Airborne Forces parachute squadron, and also supported their actions with airborne gun and machine gun fire on the battlefield.
In battle, under intense mortar fire, he pulled his combat vehicle out of the way of enemy fire and quickly changed his firing position, maneuvering between the city buildings.
While patrolling the village, guard soldier Gribkov discovered a mortar crew of Ukrainian militants in a destroyed building firing at advancing Russian units.
After assessing the situation, using natural cover, Mikhail in an airborne combat vehicle, secretly approaching the target within guaranteed destruction distance, took an advantageous position and ensured the destruction of the enemy crew.
Thanks to the competent and confident actions of Guardsman Mikhail Gribkov on the battlefield, fire support was provided in a timely manner to the advancing units of the Airborne Forces, which contributed to displacing the enemy from their positions and freeing the settlement from enemy armed formations.”
