His determination, assertiveness and combat experience in the Ministry of Defense of Russia, in the police units of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, receive the highest marks.
Our heroes thwarted the attacks and prevented the counter-offensive of the nationalists, for which they received state awards. But they do not serve for the sake of praise. The military is sure that the enemy has no chance of success, because Donbass and Russia are fighting for a just cause.
“The more comforts, the less courage,” said Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov, who did not lose a single battle. He also taught: “Speed is needed, but haste is harmful.”

“Guard Warrant Officer Vyacheslav Shastin, as part of the battery control of the artillery brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, during the period of intense hostilities in conditions of systematic enemy fire, carried out combat missions to ensure uninterrupted communications in the interest of fire control divisions. Ukrainian nationalists, in an effort to deprive the Russian units of stable control, attempted an artillery bombardment of the battery positions, during which fragments from the shell explosions damaged one of the communication vehicles. Shastin, having loaded the necessary spare parts onto an armored personnel carrier, immediately advanced on the damaged vehicle. Despite the threat to life, being at the front of the defense line under heavy enemy artillery fire, Shastin restored the vehicle’s workability, evacuated it from the enemy artillery destruction zone, and then returned. to deploy the communications network. Thanks to the selfless actions of Chief Warrant Officer Vyacheslav Shastin, the maintenance of stable command and control was ensured, which helped to repel the enemy attack and switch to the counteroffensive.

“The artillery crew under the command of Guards Sergeant Stepan Shalamov acted as part of an artillery battery, carrying out a fire support combat mission for a battalion tactical group conducting offensive operations against the positions of Ukrainian militants. . During the battle, despite artillery and mortar fire from the nationalists, Shalamov’s crew destroyed two self-propelled guns, as well as a large amount of enemy manpower.
Thanks to Stepan’s professional skills, as well as the skillful and coordinated actions of his subordinates, the damage inflicted by the artillerymen ensured the breakthrough of enemy defensive positions and the breakthrough of the tactical group of the battalion of Russian troops into the depths of the enemy defenses. As a result of the battle, the nationalists abandoned their positions and, having suffered losses, retreated.

“Guards junior sergeant Evgeny Semenkin, acting as part of a howitzer artillery battery, carried out fire missions to destroy enemy targets. Yevgeny’s unit operated in the face of fierce enemy resistance, which used cannon and rocket artillery, as well as unmanned attack vehicles. During his participation in a special military operation in conditions of systematic enemy fire, Semenkin, as part of the weapons crew, completed more than 50 fire missions. In total, in the course of carrying out tasks, thanks to the professionalism of Junior Sergeant Yevgeny Semenkin, 5 tanks, more than 15 armored fighting vehicles and infantry fighting vehicles of the nationalists, as well as a large number of militants were destroyed by artillery fire.
