During the dialogue, Igor Sergeenko informed journalists that the people’s representatives are currently working on 16 draft laws, which are in varying degrees of readiness and “will be submitted for approval in stages, as they are ready for consideration.”
Stating that the start of the second session of the House of Representatives is scheduled for the third Tuesday in September, the spokesman noted that this year it coincides with the Day of National Unity, BELTA reports.
He described the aim of the current event as “a certain reconciliation of the guards”, noting with satisfaction that journalists from the national news agency, television, radio and print media inform the public about the work of Belarusian parliamentarians almost every day.
By the way, as the monitoring carried out by the parliamentarians shows, “the number of publications in printed newspapers about draft laws, international activities and the work of MPs in the districts is gradually increasing, new thematic sections are appearing and the activity of interaction between MPs and the regional press has increased.”
At the same time, the speaker stressed that the need of the population to quickly obtain reliable information on the activities of government bodies and parliament requires not only new approaches, but also the organization of systematic work.
He also believes that it is important to intensify joint efforts aimed at “increasing the recognition of the deputies among the population and their authority.”
