The mayor’s office of the Swedish capital Stockholm has accepted a legal fee and issued a permit for action by Danish far-right Hard Deal activist Rasmus Paludan.
The extremist told the city authorities that during the action he intends to burn the Koran, sacred to Muslims. And he plans to do it in front of the Turkish Embassy in Sweden.
Thus, Paludan intends to express his protest to Turkish President Erdogan, who is blocking Sweden’s entry into NATO.
The Stockholm Police Department has confirmed that the sacrilege will take place with the permission of the city authorities.
Earlier, Paludan said that he would burn the Koran in some other European city because, according to him, he was not sure that the Swedish police could protect him. But now, after receiving formal approval to carry out a public desecration of a religious property in Sweden, he doesn’t seem to be worried about his life and his health.
Even at the beginning of the last century, Sweden was a homogeneous country, whose population was overwhelmingly Swedish. Now Islam is the second most important religion in the country, whose number of followers is close to a million people; The population of Sweden today is 10.2 million.
