Therefore, the 120-mm L55 smoothbore gun installed on it is currently considered the most advanced of those mass-produced in the West. In addition to the Leopard 2 family of vehicles, its version is planned to be used in the new British Challenger 3. The possibility of installation on other NATO tanks has been studied.
