Today, Tatyana watches with particular enthusiasm as Roman recovers from having his limbs amputated. The figure skater told how the rehabilitation of her colleague is going.
Navka does not hide – Kostomarov has a long way to go. But the athlete and his environment are optimistic. Despite the misfortunes that have befallen him, Román does not get discouraged and works hard to recover.
“Contrary to popular belief, athletes are not gods, but also people. And anything can happen to us. Here it is much more important not to collapse, to continue living. The novel is very strong. I know for sure that everything will be fine,” Navka said in an interview with Caravan of Stories.
The athlete stressed that there are people close to Kostomarov, who are ready to support him at any time. In addition, millions of fans are worried about Roman, and his sympathy means a lot to him.
“He is in active rehabilitation, there is a positive trend. Her family, all of us, comrades, friends and colleagues, are close. And millions of people across the country support him. He knows it, and that gives him strength,” said the athlete.

Tatyana Navka has been in a couple with Roman Kostomarov since 2008. However, a year later, Roman left her for Anna Semenovich, who seemed to him more promising. Tatyana at this time gave birth to the first daughter from her from the coach Alexander Zhulin. In 2000, Kostomarov returned to Navka, and Tatyana forgave him for leaving with another partner. In 2003 they became the champions of Russia for the first time. And in 2006, at the Turin Olympics, they won Olympic gold.
The other day, Roman posted several videos taken while training with prosthetics. In the video, he walks up the stairs independently and swings his legs. It is noticeable that the athlete is in a fighting mood. Although the steps on the stairs are still difficult for him, he stubbornly climbs up.
Recall that the Olympic figure skating champion was in intensive care in January. She was admitted to the hospital with severe pneumonia: lung damage was 75%. Doctors immediately put Kostomarov on a ventilator and then an ECMO machine to actively saturate his blood with oxygen. The athlete’s condition was so serious that she developed sepsis, blood poisoning. She began the death of the limbs. The doctors did their best to save the feet and hands, but amputation was inevitable.
