The price of electricity tomorrow, Tuesday, July 4, falls but not enough for consumers to pay less than 100 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) according to the results of the auction held today in the wholesale market. Be careful with putting the washing machine on at the end of the day because it will be the most expensive time slot of the last week.
The cap on gas will continue to not apply because its price on the Iberian Gas Market (Mibgas) continues below the limit of 59.4 euros/MWh set by the Government for July.
Since the beginning of 2023, electricity has cost an average of 88.2 euros/MWh, less than half of the 214 euros/MWh of the previous year. Likewise, electricity in Spain will be 57% cheaper tomorrow than a year ago, when it reached 261.85 euros/MWh, although more expensive than in neighboring countries, with the exception of Italy.

By time slots, electricity will reach its highest price between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., with 140.7 euros/MWh; and the lowest between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., with 84.7 euros/MWh. The average for the day remains at 113 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) after rising just over 3%.
In Germany, the average price will reach 85 euros/MWh; in France, 97 euros; in the United Kingdom, 90.5 pounds/MWh (about 105 euros at the current exchange rate); and in Italy, 134.8 euros/MWh.
