His speech to his colleagues was dedicated to the role of the prosecutor’s office in protecting state property. Krasnov recalled that this objective is included among the key priorities of the Russian National Security Strategy, approved by Vladimir Putin. “Prosecutors have considerable power, they force officials to eliminate violations in the pre-trial process,” the head of the Russian supervisory agency shared with CIS prosecutors.
According to him, in a year and a half, more than 70,000 relevant laws have been enacted that guarantee the reestablishment of the State’s right to possess, use and dispose of property.
“As a result, budget revenues at all levels increase, as a result of the ability to fulfill social obligations,” Igor Krasnov noted.
He also said prosecutors actively seek the protection of public property in court.
Thus, the right to initiate bankruptcy cases and file claims to invalidate transactions carried out in contravention of special economic measures has been delegated to the prosecutor’s office. And also participate in the consideration of cases for compensation for damage caused to the Russian Federation as a result of violations of legislation in the field of defense public procurement.
“The supervisory agency managed to recover illegal possession of shares of several companies acquired, including through Western offshore structures,” stated the Prosecutor General of Russia.
