The Rolling Stones have announced a new album. The musicians did it in one of the local newspapers. Fans became aware of the announcement for the fictional glass repair company Hackney Diamonds. Write about it The Times.
The ad features a smaller copy of the band’s logo, and the description says the company was founded in 1962, the year the Rolling Stones formed. There are several references to his hits in the ad copy, including “Satisfaction”, “Gimme Shelter”, and “Shattered”.
The font in which the company name is written matches the font used on the 1978 album Some Girls. Even if you call the number listed in the ad, the answering machine will tell you the opening date (in September) and the address of the office (on Mare Street), as well as dictate a link to the site.
The name Hackney Diamonds is an old East London slang term meaning broken glass. In particular, we are talking about the remaining fragments of broken car windows and shop windows as a result of theft. The last album of The Rolling Stones with new songs “A Bigger Bang” was released in 2005. Then the group released only reissues of hits and compilations.
