“Kyrgyzstan traditionally shows great interest in new Russian cinema, which is why all festival screenings are always sold out,” the organizers report. – But this film screening has become the busiest since 2021.
“We are happy that the audience appreciated our choice and had an unforgettable experience,” said Yulia Bragina, director of the Public Relations Department of the Russian State Film Fund and coordinator of the festival. – Cinema is a unique product that reflects culture and customs and is understandable by any viewer in any country. This art promotes the development of friendly relationships. Therefore, it is necessary to hold events of this type regularly and expand their formats. We hope that subsequent festivals will grow with additional locations and cities.
All festival screenings were free. The films were shown in Russian with Kyrgyz subtitles. The undisputed leaders of the show were the films “In Command of the Pike” and “Cheburashka”. Entire families came to see them.
The festival has been celebrated in Kyrgyzstan since 2021. The organizer of the event is ROSKINO. The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Cinema Foundation.

Within the framework of the festival, negotiations were held between the Russian side and representatives of the state film center Kyrgyztasmasy on the prospects of joint film production. In addition, the parties discussed the possibility of organizing other similar events, exhibitions and special thematic film screenings.
“We believe these cultural events will bring our people closer and unite,” said Talantbek Tolobekov, director of the Kyrgyztasmasy state film center, which co-organized the festival. – For our part, we plan to celebrate Kyrgyz Cinema Days in two cities in Russia. This will be a mirror event where we will present the best works of film directors of our republic.
