Kino.Art.Pro is presenting a comedy-drama about growing up and difficult moral choices. The film will be released on September 5. The film is based on the best-selling book by Israeli writer Ayelet Gundar-Goshen, based on the true story of a 17-year-old schoolgirl.
Director Yulia Trofimova brings the story to Russian reality, exploring how random teenage “little lies” provoke the public, leading to emotional outbursts and media attention. At the center of the story is seventeen-year-old Eva, who takes a job at a cafe during the summer to diversify her boring everyday life, find new friends and maybe even fall in love.
The filming of “The Liar” took place in Nizhny Novgorod. The main role in the film was played by Elizaveta Ishchenko, familiar to the viewer from the hits of the series “Alice Can’t Wait” and “Food Block 2”. She was accompanied by the rising star Dasha Vereshchagina, who played the main role in the science fiction film “A Hundred Years Ahead”. Stas Starovoitov, known for the film “Dad”, plays the role of a controversial character who is directly involved in the current situation. The actor also performed one of the songs from the soundtrack.
Metacritic previously compiled a rating of TV series for the first half of 2024. At the top of the peak are “Fawn,” “Phantasms,” and “Shogun.” We discuss them in more detail here.
