Ten days in the Baku Russian Drama Theater named after Samed Vurgun were sold out and sold out.
Primorye artists showed their best performances to the people of Baku. “The teacher and Margarita”, “The dog in the manger”, “Edith and her demons” and the Russian artists completed the tour with the play “Cruise” based on the novel by Valentin Pikul.
The entire theater troupe and thirty students of the Vladivostok Academy of Arts shone on stage.
The famous play “Cruise” tells about the tragic events of the Russo-Japanese war of 1904. Spectators see what happens through the fate of the direct participants in that war. For whom honor, duty and devotion to the Fatherland are not empty words, but the meaning of life.
The performers bowed to the melody of the legendary march “Farewell of the Slav”. The hall accepted the standing bows, to a flurry of applause and enthusiastic exclamations of “Hurray!”
– A bow to the grateful Baku public and our Azerbaijani colleagues! The Baku Russian Drama Theater is wonderful, all its services and workshops worked perfectly. We didn’t let them down, and they didn’t let us down. It’s the most important thing! – said Yefim Zvenyatsky, People’s Artist of Russia, artistic director of the Gorky Primorsky Drama Theater.
These trips have become a new bridge of friendship between Azerbaijan and the Primorsky Territory.
An agreement was born that the Azerbaijani diaspora of Primorye in September on the stage of Vladivostok “Gorkovka” will celebrate the centenary of the birth of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.

The most revealing facet of the past tour is the sea of love in which the Baku audiences bathed the artists from the Far East.
– I cried at the performance of “Cruiser”, I remembered my father, a front-line soldier. It was as if he had been in Russia,-says Natalya Vasilievna Menshikova. She is a native Baku woman, she has been living in this wonderful city for her seventy years.
One hundred and twenty people came from Vladivostok on tour to Baku: actors, theater technical services and students of the Far Eastern Academy of Arts.
Four trucks arrived from the “Nashensky city” to the capital of Azerbaijan, bringing one hundred and sixty tons of props, stage equipment and scenery.

– I went to all the performances of Primorye artists. Wonderful theatre, wonderful set design, great direction. This is a different theatrical language, a different intonation.
