The Spanish Tourism Board has met to articulate a list of actions necessary to promote tourism for the next legislature. The business association has agreed a total of more than 50 suggestions and requests for political parties.
Spain and to the benefit of the national economy in general. The specific measures have been agreed with the CEOE Tourism Council and are aimed at the new Government that will be formed after the 23J elections.
The proposals to promote tourism in Spain have been grouped into six categories: Institutional framework; International tourism leadership; Fiscal framework, European funds; improvement of competitiveness; Reputation of the tourism sector; and Labor Framework.
A new Ministry, among the requests of the Table
Among the concrete forms that appear are the creation of a Ministry of Tourism and Transport, the approval of the National Tourism Law, promoting the recognition of tourism as a strategic sector in the European sphere, the definition of contingency plans and crisis management and the Reduced VAT equalization for activities such as golf or car rental, among many others.
“We trust that the new government that we have will show sensitivity towards tourism and attend to its efforts in consideration of the economic and social weight of our activity”, stressed the president of the Board, Juan Molas during the presentation of the document.
