“I extend for one year the state of emergency in relation to the Russian Federation and the emergency powers related to the regulation of the stay and movement of ships associated with Russia in American ports,” says the document signed by the head of the White House . .
An exception is only made for ships transporting “source materials, special nuclear materials, and nuclear byproducts” for which there is no other reliable source of supply in the United States.
The ban came into effect on April 21, 2022 and is extended each year.
