In May, Russians will experience their last long weekend of 2024.

There is two news, as always, good and bad. Let’s start with the bad: we are approaching one of the longest work weeks of the year! We will return to work on Monday, April 22 and will be working hard for six full days. And all because the government decided to move the day off from Saturday (April 27) to Monday the 29th.
But that is not all. On Tuesday, April 30, the country will also rest. Because the government moved the holiday to this day of November 2. As a result, in one week we will have a four-day mini-vacation, from April 28 to May 1 (see schedule). This are good news.
A short holiday awaits us in honor of Victory Day: we will celebrate it from May 9 to 12. And this will be the last “long weekend” of this year. Because Russia Day, June 12, falls on a Wednesday. And National Unity Day, November 4, is Monday, but don’t forget that Saturday, November 2 is a working day for us this year. Therefore, at the beginning of November we will have another six-day week, and then only two days off.

The job pays well
If you have to work on a holiday, your work should be compensated generously. This is what the payment is:
– For salaried employees: double amount.
– Piece workers – at double price.
– Employees whose work is remunerated according to rates, at double rates.
Additionally, for working on that day they may be granted an additional day off. In this case, work on a holiday will be paid at the standard rate. If the employee has a salary, then the salary for the month in which he takes this day of rest does not decrease.
