It is true that some models end up gaining value over time, but these are rare cases that, either due to their historical significance, their uniqueness or who they belonged to, manage to be auctioned or sold for millions of dollars.
Although it is an effect that occurs in all the most common or current car models, the loss of market value of a car does not occur in a homogeneous way. The American search engine iSeeCars has analyzed the price of some three million second-hand cars, sold in 2022, and their value after five years of life. According to their results, the average depreciation of a vehicle in the last five years has been 33.3%.
These are the cars that lose less value
The car that has suffered the least depreciation according to ISeeCars is the Jeep Wrangler. Over the past five years on the used market, its value has dropped by 7.3% compared to what it’s worth new. This car is sold from 40,000 euros and can reach 70,000 euros, depending on the version and equipment.
