Until not many years ago, Chinese vehicles did not seem to have much of a cabin in our country. Drivers still viewed these models with suspicion, including electric cars despite their lower sales price, and the concept of a Chinese car was still associated with low quality and not very careful finishes. However, several car brands from China have landed in Spain that are shaking off these clichés and that, increasingly, are managing to gain a foothold among Spanish drivers.
One of them is MG, which for the first time has managed to place one of its models in the first position of the best-selling cars of the month. Specifically, the model that is dazzling the Spanish is the MG ZS in its gasoline version, although it is also sold with an electric motor.
One of the biggest attractions of the MG ZS is its ability to create a high-end appearance at a not inconsiderable price. Specifically, this car costs 13,990 euros (if the brand’s conditions are met), making it among the cheapest on the market, representing great competition for other general brands such as Dacia.
How much does MG ZS car insurance cost?
The second strong point is that, inevitably, it is an SUV with a large trunk (448 liters). This segment of SUV vehicles is the favorite of Spaniards and has long been the favorite car model, ahead of sedans and minivans, with also great interior capacity and family character.
As a third thing to take into account, the MG ZS is the cheapest advantage car to insure in 2023 according to the latest study published by Rastreator, with an average policy expense of about 300 euros. In short, it is a very profitable vehicle for sale economically.
As for the more technical characteristics, it is a comfortable family car that adapts perfectly to urban driving. The different engine versions start from a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with 106 horsepower in the entry version to a 1.0-liter engine with turbo and 111 horsepower. The MG ZS EV is also available, in an electric version, with a range of 440 kilometers in WLTP, which costs from 22,480 euros.

Although it is perhaps its best-known and most viewed model, the MG ZS is not the only car available in the Chinese brand’s catalog. Its vehicle offering includes the MG HS, the MG4 and the MG5, the Marvel R and the Cyberster. The first is a more powerful SUV than the ZS, also available in a plug-in hybrid version, for a low price of 24,440 euros.
The MG4 and MG5 are fully electric cars available from 19,480 euros and 25,280 euros, respectively, the first with a more utilitarian body and the second, a station wagon type.
The Marvel R is a higher-end all-electric SUV, priced at 32,980 euros. Finally, the Cyberster is the jewel in MG’s crown: an electric sports car with a design that combines the iconic legacy of roadsters with the modern and technological aesthetic that characterizes this Chinese brand. The latter is not yet for sale and is expected to arrive in Spain next year.
