“In total, we will receive 270 million rubles,” said Mikhail Khaikin, Minister of Improvement of the Moscow Region, joining the regional government meeting directly from Vladivostok. He added that the region has never failed to participate in this competition, and has never come back from it without victories. In seven years, thanks to the grants, 23 cities have been improved, more than 2.5 million people have received beautiful public spaces. “In the near future, we will open 4 more comfortable zones: this weekend, in Pushchino, in mid-August in Kashira and Serpukhov, and on September 1, in Vereya,” Khaikin specified.
The region has never come back from this competition without a win.
Egorievsk won in the nomination “City with a population of 50-100 thousand people.” Soon they will begin to update the 60th Anniversary of Victory Square and the pedestrian zone along Lenin Avenue. It is planned to add zones for events, youth and children’s sports to the existing space, so that walking in the central part of the city will be interesting for everyone: mothers with children, pensioners and young people. And in front of the institutions located in the vicinity of the streets in the process of improvement, comfortable waiting areas will be equipped.
Khotkovo took the nomination “City with a population of 20 to 50 thousand people.” Here the central square will be improved. The monument to VI Lenin, having created a new recreation area around it, will equip several places for various leisure activities. The square is not empty even now, and after the completion of all the work, it will become a favorite vacation spot for all Khotkovites and a convenient platform for presenting the city’s achievements in various fields.
Kashira won in the “Historic Settlement” nomination. In this city, the central Sovetskaya street will be equipped, as well as the square of the Museum of Local Lore, Pushkin square, the Summer Garden and sections of adjacent streets. Here the sidewalks will be widened, a fountain, children’s and sports courts, pergolas with swings, ping-pong tables will be installed. The project involves the creation of an open-air museum in the historical part of the city, which will reflect the bright moments of the centuries-old history of Kashira, its legends and images.
