The president began the meeting with a question to the Minister of Transport, Vitaly Savelyev. This is understandable: in recent days, the traffic jam in front of the Crimean bridge from the Krasnodar Territory has reached 13 kilometers.
The official explained what the problem was: after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, a third level of security was introduced. And this means 100% inspection of all cars entering the bridge. Hence the plugs.
But Savelyeva said that the Ministry of Transport is doing everything possible to deal with the situation:
– 18 inspection lanes have been equipped,
– introscopes, frames and metal detectors were supplied,
– The flows are divided: passenger cars are sent to these inspection points, buses to the station, special cargo is diverted to a separate lane.
– More than 200 employees are hired.
“As a result, it is now possible to inspect up to 440 vehicles per hour from Taman and up to 400 vehicles per hour from Kerch,” Savelyev said. – At 2:00 p.m. (July 4), we have around 100 vehicles waiting to pass, the waiting time is up to 30 minutes.
HOLIDAY LIKE A SKYDIVER
At the same time, the minister reminded that the ferry crossing is also working, and only cars and tourist buses are allowed on the Crimean bridge. But there is also a lot of workload. Therefore, from July 7, the ferry “Kerchinsky-2” becomes a 24-hour operation. In addition, the Ministry of Defense is ready to join:
“This morning I spoke with Sergei Kuzhugetovich Shoigu,” Savelyev shared. -And he will also provide us, if necessary, with two large landing ships, each carrying 40 vehicles.
Thus, the number of cars transported per day by ferry will increase to 1,000 units per day.
– Probably, there are no other methods and tools, except for those that the Minister reported today, objectively, Vladimir Vladimirovich, – the head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, joined the conversation. – We understand that the priority is the Ministry of Defense. With such measures, the installation of large landing ships (large landing ships – ed.), I think we will lengthen the ferry crossing.

Vitaly Savelyev, in turn, drew attention to the fact that since July 2, traffic has been opened on the Kherson bridge – this is the border of the Crimea and the Kherson region.
– This allows drivers to take an alternative route, bypassing the Crimean bridge. Our statistics show that yesterday more than 1,200 cars passed through the new territories, bypassing the Crimean bridge, the minister noted.
Krasnodar Territory Governor Veniamin Kondratiev also proposed the use of a new land corridor through Zaporozhye and the Kherson region:
“I think that autotourists from all over the country will be proud to drive through the new Russian territories, and for the inhabitants of these territories it will also be important that tourists and vacationers from all regions of the country travel through their territory,” he said. saying.
