The teacher stresses that in the age of innovative computer technologies, schoolchildren’s interest in reading books and studying from textbooks is fading away. As a Russian teacher, she has to use various methods to interest children in reading the work they are studying. And she pays special attention to the work of Alexander Pushkin. The Russian specialist is sure that there is no person in the world who is not familiar with the great Russian classic.

The author of the essay writes that Alexander Sergeevich created world-class artistic values. He became a symbol of Russian spiritual life. Each new generation, each era affirms its understanding of the poet, seeing him as a contemporary. After all, Pushkin appealed to eternal moral values: honor and dignity, conscience, duty, justice, love, patriotism, the national idea, friendship of peoples.

A Russian specialist has been working at the school for many years. He had various students. Some of them loved to read, while others were not very interested in literature. But when the conversation turned to the great classic, even the weakest ones quoted his poems from memory. “When we studied the story “The Captain’s Daughter” with our students, the children argued among themselves with great enthusiasm. They all tried to express their opinion. I was glad to see their lively faces, the sparkle in their eyes. They understood what they were talking about. After all, Pushkin described not only the life of ordinary people, but also the theme of love for the Motherland was widely revealed in his works. The feeling of patriotism has always been. will be relevant at all times for the population of our planet,” the teacher shares.

Many of his former students now go abroad to work. One of them, upon returning, admitted that he greatly regretted having read little and not having studied poetry at school. Being in a foreign land, he was very surprised when, while working with foreigners, he heard an excerpt from the novel “Eugene Onegin” in barely understandable Russian.

In our country, the teacher writes, Pushkin’s name is widely known. His poems, poems and stories were introduced into the school curriculum. And those who tear down monuments to such famous personalities as Pushkin simply do not realize the contribution the poet made to the cultural life of his country, how he reflected the historical era. “If we are not interested in the history, culture and traditions of the people, what will become of us later?” – asks Galina Kurchak. In her opinion, it is very important for teachers of Russian studies to preserve the value that was passed on to them by their ancestors. And not only to save all this, but also to be able to pass it on to the current generation. Galina Kurchak is sure that everyone should read Pushkin, regardless of their profession.

“I think that many, many years will pass, but the works of the great poet will always be relevant on all continents of our land. Read and love Pushkin, and it doesn’t matter what your profession is! You must be literate and comprehensively developed,” he concludes.
