Trump ready to crush Biden in head-to-head fight

Ten days later, on June 27, Joe Biden and Donald Trump, who are fighting for the White House, will meet in person for the first time in this election campaign. And each of them will say right to his opponent’s face what he thinks of him and the direction the United States should take next.
The electoral debate between the two candidates will take place at the CNN studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Typically, these verbal duels take place in three rounds shortly before voting day (remember, the US elections are scheduled for November 5). But this time, given the atmosphere of unprecedented scandal that enveloped the presidential race, it was decided to organize a preliminary round.
The conditions of the fight are quite strict: no pre-prepared written speeches, cheat sheets or teleprompters. Just pencil and paper to take notes. Well, and also a bottle of water if your throat gets dry from heated discussions. It is true that speakers will be prohibited from interrupting each other; only the person speaking at that moment will have the microphone on. For the first time in almost half a century, the debate will be held without an audience in the room, so as not to disturb the candidates with applause or exclamations. Even their relatives are not allowed to be invited.
The action will last 90 minutes with two advertising interruptions (business is business). The duelists will fight sitting on chairs, and this, according to many, is a great advantage for Biden, whose senile illness is becoming more evident every day.
Trump accepted all these rules. “They (CNN, which openly supports the Democrats – Ed.), like a mafia, present their proposals, which cannot be rejected, thinking that I will back down. But I accepted! -he said to the enthusiastic roar of his followers at one of the rallies.
And in response, Donald demanded that his opponent undergo two tests. The first is that they did not stuff him with stimulants before the debate (some in the United States believe that Biden is given these things before important speeches so that he looks fresher and remains more cheerful). And the second is about cognitive status, which Donald hopes means old Joe’s irreversible dementia. . “Let him pass the mental ability test, like I did!” – Trump exclaimed smugly. And then he embarrassed himself by confusing the name of the doctor who performed this test.
But that small mistake, and Trump’s recent admission of being guilty of paying “hidden money” to porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election, didn’t do much for his poll ratings. Now, according to polls, Donald, with 45.4% support, is almost one percent ahead of Biden and, more importantly, leads in almost all the “swing states” where the sympathies of the electorate do not are clearly manifested. Furthermore, already 86% of voters believe that Joe is too old to run for a second term. At the beginning of the year, 63% of Americans thought this way.
First lady Jill Biden rushed to her husband’s defense, convincing her compatriots that age is no obstacle for a statesman and that Trump is, supposedly, a little younger. “Don’t be fooled,” she appealed to voters. “Joseph has proven to be one of the most effective presidents in American history.” But it seems that her call continued to be a voice crying in the desert.
Before the last election, four years ago, Trump resoundingly lost the debate to the then still quite capable Biden: 53% of Americans thought the Democrat was preferable, and only 39% gave the victory to the Republican. But times have changed and Trump intends to take revenge on his weakened opponent.
If Biden concedes in the next fight, then there is a very high probability that at the Democratic Party Convention in August he will resign with honor and the Democrats will nominate a replacement. In Washington it is rumored that the new candidate could be the governor of California, Gavin Newsom, or even the wife of former US president Barack Obama, Michelle. Well, we’ll wait and see.
