The Eastern Economic Forum will be held from September 10 to 13 in Vladivostok on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU).
“The main theme of this year’s Forum is ‘On the Path of Cooperation, Peace and Prosperity’. If we talk about architecture, we will keep the traditional blocks and adapt them to the current international situation, modern challenges and the role that the Far East plays for our country,” Trutnev told reporters.
The EEF-2023 business program includes six key blocks: “International cooperation in a changed world”, “Logistics of change”, “The Far East in ten years. What has happened and what needs to be done”, “Technological development as a guarantee of sovereignty”, “Far East of the future”, “Education and upbringing as the basis of independence”.
In the block “International cooperation in a changed world”, the participants will discuss a new political and economic model of the world, tools for developing the Russian economy under sanctions, the security of capital movement and new formats of interaction with foreign companies. Particular attention will be paid to the island territories of the Russian Federation. Business dialogues with friendly countries are planned.
The theme “Logistics of change” will be devoted to discussions on river and maritime transport, the development of the Northern Sea Route and the Eastern Cordillera. “The Far East has become a unique transport corridor for foreign trade relations. This places completely new requirements on all modes of transport,” Yury Trutnev believes.
As part of the direction “The Far East in ten years. What has happened and what needs to be done”, it is planned not only to summarize the results of the decade, but also to discuss new tools for the development of the Far Eastern regions.
“We will definitely review everything we have done during this period. Many of our mechanisms have found a safe residence in the arctic zone and other territories. Priority development territories have appeared in single-industry cities, as well as preferences in the Zone. Arctic region of Russia. At the same time, we are intensively analyzing how our competitors in neighboring countries perform, including in terms of attracting investment. Within the framework of this direction, the issues of the evolution of preferential regimes in Russia, infrastructure development, modernization of the energy system, renewal of Far Eastern cities and increasing the efficiency of the United Far East will be discussed. The track “Technological development as a guarantee of sovereignty” is dedicated to the need to strengthen the practical work of Russian industry in the creation of technologies and industries based on artificial intelligence, the introduction of agriculture and biotechnologies, the development of unmanned systems – those areas that will help Russia to remain one of the leading technological countries in the world.
“The Far East is a complex area in terms of production development. The climate and distances create high costs for businesses. Thus, the first part of the development of the Far East was largely associated with the development of new mineral deposits and the launch of mining projects, and now we can safely say that “In terms of industrial development, the Far East is significantly ahead of other regions of our country. But it’s time to move on, turn a new page and talk about new steps in the development of the Far East,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
The sessions of the block “Far East of the Future” will discuss the modernization of the urban economy, the improvement of the quality of life in the Far East, the introduction of environmentally friendly transport, the development of the construction industry and the creation of rental housing.
In the direction “Education and training as the basis of independence”, the experts will discuss such topics as the development of higher education, the strengthening of patriotic education and military sports training. The results of the Muravyov-Amursky 2030 program for the training of highly qualified managerial specialists will also be presented.
Following the results of the key sessions, the moderators will report to the head of state on what has been done in the Russian Far East over the past years and outline possible directions for the future development of the region.
For the guests and participants of the EEF-2023, in addition to business, sports and cultural programs will traditionally be prepared. In addition, the exhibition “Far Eastern Street” will be open every day of the Forum on the embankment of Ajax Bay on Russky Island. Visitors will be able to get acquainted with eleven pavilions, which symbolize the original regions of the Far Eastern Federal District.
