Russian Deputy Defence Minister Anna Tsivileva has checked the progress of construction of a new military hospital in Ryazan, which builders plan to put into operation in mid-September.

The head of the project of the Military Construction Company, Alexey Poskotinov, informed the Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia that at the moment the entire engineering infrastructure has been supplied to the hospital – electricity and medical gases, and all permits from resource supplying organizations have been received in full.

The military department also noted that the structure of the new hospital will include a clinic, dental, therapeutic and surgical departments, a consultation and diagnostic department, equipped with an apparatus for conducting X-ray, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging studies. And the modern food block being built will make it possible to offer all patients healthy and tasty food.

At a meeting with her subordinates, Anna Tsivileva noted the high quality of prostheses supplied to veterans of the Northern Military District and instructed the new hospitals to immediately prepare places for rehabilitation and training in the use of technical means of rehabilitation.

“The prostheses currently in use are multifunctional and comfortable, allowing military personnel to perform any activity, including sports, without difficulty or inconvenience,” he said.

It should be recalled that earlier, during a trip to Khabarovsk, Tsivileva drew attention to the insufficient number of beds in military hospitals and the need for their renovation. She then said that the problem should be resolved in the near future.

Poskotinov informed the Deputy Minister today that in the near future it is planned to increase the bed capacity of military hospitals in Russia by almost 2 thousand beds, as well as to more actively use civilian medical institutions for the follow-up treatment of wounded servicemen.

For this purpose, both new hospital buildings and new hospitals in general are being built. In particular, five standard hospitals are now being built, each with 150 beds, and larger institutions are also being built in two cities, each of which will accommodate at least 300 patients.

“Our efforts should be directed towards completing the works in these hospitals,” Tsivileva stressed.
