The profession of casting director (that is, those who select actors for films and television series) has been undervalued until recently. But soon a special category will be introduced at the Oscars for these people. Meanwhile, the second Casting Directors Guild Award ceremony took place in Moscow. It took place at the Malaya Bronnaya Theater and attracted a whole host of stars. The debut of the year award went to actor Slava Kopeikin, who played Turbo in “The Boy’s Word.” The award was received by Ruzil Minekaev, who also played Marat. Slava suddenly announced in a video message that he would present Ruzil with his award in honor of his birthday (the actor turned 25 on May 20). This was perhaps the most emotional moment of the ceremony.

Chameleon actor Daniil Vorobyov received a special award for the film “Octopus”, where he played eight roles at once. The award was presented by director Klim Shipenko (“Slave”, “Challenge”), whose speech turned out to be almost longer than the winner’s speech: he literally demanded that Vorobyov star in his next film.
