“The peculiarity of Turkey is that it is physically a base for oil and natural gas. Russia supports the idea of creating a gas center in Türkiye. We want Turkey to become a center where natural gas prices are determined and negotiated. It is a kind of electronic trading and pricing system. And if you also have storage facilities, then you can sell the purchased gas cheaply, depending on demand conditions, and make money,” the minister was quoted as saying by the Sabah daily.
Recall that in October last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to build a gas center in Turkey, which could ensure the transit of Russian “blue fuel” that had previously been delivered to Europe via Nord Stream.
