As reported by the department, information about the emergency that occurred near the village of Elkotovo (located about 60 kilometers from Vladikavkaz) was received today at 20.15 by the on-call shift of the Crisis Management Center of the region.
The forces and resources of the Republican Ministry of Emergency Situations and the search and rescue team of the Ministry of North Ossetia were quickly sent to the scene of the incident.
According to reports, the driver and passenger of the car died in the accident, whose bodies the rescuers had to free from the cabin of the six. After which specialists began to clear the crossing: 12 employees and three teams of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia took part in this work.
“According to the available information, there are no casualties on the train. No delays are expected for other trains; if the train can continue moving, it will depart for its destination,” the emergency department said.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, at 9:44 p.m. the passenger train was still moving towards its destination.
