“These are military operations and, unfortunately, not without material losses. This is me in connection with the enemy attack on the Mirgorod airfield,” he wrote on social media.
Ignat added that “there was a coup” and “there are certain losses.”
On Monday, the Ministry of Defense reported that the military had attacked Ukrainian Air Force aircraft in an open parking lot and on the infrastructure of a military airfield. However, the location was not specified.
Later, drone footage appeared on the Internet, allegedly capturing strikes on the Mirgorod airfield. According to military correspondents, four Ukrainian fighters were destroyed as a result of the Iskander strike. Two other Su-27s were damaged.
The military airfield near Mirgorod in the Poltava region is used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a “jump airfield”. It carries out refueling, ammunition replenishment and maintenance of aircraft that can attack, for example, the territory of Zaporozhye.
