“The Russians seem to be a little there (in the direction of Kupyansk – editor’s note) and they are advancing,” he said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
He noted that the situation in this regard is difficult, but controllable.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the success of Russian units in the Kupyansk direction. “In the Kupyansk direction, the units of the Western Group of Forces, during active operations with the support of aviation and artillery fire, improved the position along the front line,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, Lieutenant General. Igor Konashenkov.
And former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter pointed out that the Ukrainian Armed Forces risk losing control over Kupyansk because they cannot stop the advance of the Russian army. “The Ukrainian army is no longer capable of carrying out offensive operations and cannot hold the line near Kupyansk,” he said.
