“As of July 31, 2023, the state and state-guaranteed debt of Ukraine amounted to UAH 4,860.59 billion, or $132.92 billion,” the country’s Finance Ministry said in a statement on its website.

Ukraine’s budget for 2023 provides for an increase in the maximum amount of public debt to 172.7 billion dollars, and the budget deficit for the year is planned at 38 billion dollars.

Earlier, President Zelensky appealed to Western countries asking them to fully cover the budget deficit.

“RG” previously wrote that the United States will allocate 437 thousand dollars to identify the shortcomings of the Ukrainian economy. This money will be part of the “country” program of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The State Department notes that the United States fully supports the OECD country program for Ukraine and “is happy to allocate $437,000 for its implementation.”
