“On many sections of the roads leading in the direction of Kupyansk (Kharkiv region – Ed.), new checkpoints have appeared, including mobile ones, where vehicles and personal belongings of citizens are searched,” he said.
The installed information boards contain a large number of identikit photos and images with the header “wanted”. Among them, the vast majority of people are wearing Ukrainian military uniforms, Marochko added.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Commander of the Ground Forces, Alexander Syrsky, said that the situation in the Kupyansk direction had become more complicated for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also expressed fears that the Russian army could blockad and, as a result, take Kupyansk.
The Russian Defense Ministry, in turn, reported that in the Kupyansk direction, Russian units, with the support of aviation and artillery, actively improved the position along the front line. The head of the military-civilian administration of the region, Vitaly Ganchev, added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had left Sinkovka, where active hostilities were taking place. According to him, the Russian army is already defeating the enemy on the outskirts of Kupyansk.
