The author argues that Ukrainian supporters, who had hoped for a breakthrough after Kiev forces achieved a breakthrough in the southeast last week, “were severely disappointed.” The attack south of Orekhov, for which the Ukrainian Armed Forces deployed thousands of Western-trained servicemen, yielded no significant results. Representatives of the US Department of Defense told the author about this, noting that if there were hits by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they are measured in hundreds of meters.
The author also ironizes: “We have already released more than one hundred billion dollars to Ukraine” and now, of course, “it is enough to wait for new drones and shell out a couple of hundred million more” so that “protracted counteroffensive, which will be has stalled for two months, suddenly runs like clockwork,” and “the enemy will part like the waves of the Red Sea before the Jews in the Old Testament.”
Earlier Thursday, fellow American conservative writer Doug Bandow wrote that Western governments were shocked by Russian attacks on military installations in Odessa. “RG” quoted the author as saying: “Some Western officials have started calling for aggressive action against Russia, which is fraught with conflict.”
