The mayor did not comply with the requirements of the anti-corruption legislation to resolve conflicts of interest. The results of the audit showed that Potapov knew that the son of his deputy was one of the founders of the construction company with which the state contract was signed.
City deputies refused to remove Potapov from office. Then the Vilyuchinsk prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit for the resignation of the head of the city in connection with the loss of trust.
“Based on the results of the study of the supervisory authority’s arguments, the Vilyuchinsky city court decided to grant the request,” the supervisory authority said.
