The list of new Cities of Labor Value was presented on September 5 at a meeting of the Pobeda organizing committee by Andrei Turchak, secretary of the General Council of United Russia. All of them were approved by the RAS commission: scientists confirmed that the settlements did indeed contribute significantly to the victory.

As expected, Vladimir Putin did not change the proposed list, but approved it in its entirety. These are the cities that received the honorary title:

– Vladimir: aviation instruments, motorcycles, special vehicles.

– Votkinsk: one in nine cannons came from there.

– Nakhodka – canned fish.

– Novomoskovsk is the center of the chemical industry.

– Prokopyevsk: 31 million tons of coal were mined during the war.

– Podolsk: mechanical engineering, mortars, armored helmets.

– Ryazan: 20% of the mines for the front were manufactured in the city.

– Rubtsovsk – produced hundreds of thousands of mine bodies and sapper shovels.

– Ulan-Ude is the center of aircraft manufacturing.

– Khanty-Mansiysk is a center of fish production and processing.

Now there are 63 cities of labor glory in Russia. The procedure takes place in several stages: first applications from the population are accepted, then the Academy of Sciences conducts a study and confirms the actual contribution of the settlement to victory. The nominations are then presented to the president and he makes the final decision.

After this, a commemorative stele is installed with the image of the city’s coat of arms and the text of the presidential decree on granting the title. In addition, in the City of Labor Value, public events and festive fireworks are held on May 1, May 9, and City Day.
