On Tuesday, November 21, negotiations between Russia and Tajikistan will take place in the Grand Kremlin Palace.
The press secretary of the president of Russia, Dmitri Peskov, spoke of this event as “a very important part of the working day.”
“Tajikistan is our strategic partner, an ally,” an official Kremlin representative said at a briefing for Russian and foreign journalists. – First there will be a conversation between President Putin and President Rahmon in a limited format, then there will be negotiations between Russia and Tajikistan. They will be in the format of a working breakfast.
Peskov also announced that on that day President Putin will present President Rakhmon with the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, degree III.
In addition, “a rather impressive package of joint documents” will be signed.
Including “interdepartmental, specific, in which we are talking about specialized interaction and cooperation between a variety of departments.”
And after the signing, Presidents Putin and Rakhmon will make joint statements to the media.
“And in the evening, after the break,” Peskov told reporters, “the heads of state will continue their face-to-face communication during an informal dinner that Putin will host in honor of his distinguished guest.” Lunch will take place in the First Kremlin Building.
– And in the evening will President Putin receive President Rakhmon in his apartment in the first building? – I asked the press secretary.
“This cannot be ruled out,” Peskov responded. – Putin does this quite often. (That is, he receives distinguished guests in his Kremlin apartment.-AG) In addition, they have very close and long-standing friendly relations with Rakhmon.
Well, and, of course, there are many topics for conversation.
