“For me and my descendants, May 9 will always be Victory Day, which we will celebrate,” the Serbian leader said in Russian. His words were quoted by RIA Novosti. The topic of Vucic’s speech was “Review of historical facts and resistance of freedom-loving peoples.”
Before starting his speech, Vučić expressed words of support for the Slovak Prime Minister, Robert Fico, who was assassinated on Wednesday. The Serbian president called Fico “brother” and asked church representatives to pray for the Slovak prime minister’s recovery.
Earlier Vucic said that Serbia thanks Russia for Moscow supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Balkan country.
