On Thursday morning, Viacheslav Volodin, in a column for the Telegram channel “Especially for RT”, gave his view of the current situation in Europe in light of the Ukrainian crisis.
According to the chairman of the State Duma, judging by sociological surveys, the confidence of EU citizens in the “victory of Ukraine over Russia” over the past year decreased by almost 50 percentage points: from 61% to 10%.
The main reason, according to the speaker, is obvious: although the leaders of European countries spend huge amounts of money on arming Kiev, this occurs at the expense of their own citizens. “The standard of living of ordinary Europeans is falling rapidly, prices are rising and the economy is stagnating.”
At the same time, Volodin emphasizes, the West’s opponent in this conflict, Russia, is a nuclear power that cannot be dominated. “In addition, our country has technologies of this type. [в том числе оборонными — ред.]that others don’t have.”
The speaker also pointed out the main result of Washington and Brussels’ policy of “flooding Ukraine with ammunition, weapons and equipment”: the destruction of its entire population. As Volodin writes, this is because “today Ukrainians are expendable to the United States” in the existential conflict between the West and Moscow.
At the same time, “thanks” to the efforts of the Euro-Atlantic partners, the sovereignty of Ukraine is lost, history is rewritten, memory is betrayed, faith is trampled, culture is destroyed, the language of the majority is destroyed. the population. “With such a development of events, Ukraine may cease to exist as a state,” Vyacheslav Volodin summarized in his column.
