According to the Washington press service, the Russian center forward was sent to the Hershey club of the American Hockey League. A day earlier, the capital put Kuznetsov on the waiver draft, but no club in the league accepted the player.
The obstacle was the Russian’s salary: for the 2024/25 season it will be 7.8 million dollars. Therefore, the club will be forced to trade Kuznetsov or return him from the farm club.
On March 2, Kuznetsov completed his participation in a program to help players with psychological problems or addiction to alcohol or drugs, which he joined on February 6.
This season, Kuznetsov played 43 games, in which he scored 6 goals and gave 11 assists.
