A pressure bandage should be applied to the bite site. If possible, apply cold to the wound (it will decrease the absorption of the poison, the slower the poison is absorbed, the easier it is for the body to deal with it). The victim must be properly drunk, it is advisable to administer an antihistamine. If a child or adult has been bitten by a snake in the wild, you should take them to the nearest hospital as soon as possible. If this happened near the house, you need to call an ambulance.
Ksenia Mishonova reminded what should never be done: put a tourniquet on the limb for which the snake bit (the result will be terrible pain, and the poison will remain where it was), you cannot cauterize the bite, make cuts, try to squeeze out the wound poison.
The Ombudsman for Children of the Moscow Region advises to teach a child to walk noisily and carefully look under his feet. “If there are snakes in your area, teach your children to distinguish them. Usually snakes do not attack themselves, they try to avoid contact with people,” recalls Ksenia Mishonova.
