Russian airlines “found new logistics routes” to solve the problem with spare parts for foreign planes by 2023-24. But the promised Russian import substitution planes are eagerly awaited. This was discussed at the forum as part of the X National Civil Aviation Infrastructure Exhibition NAIS 2023, which takes place on February 7-8 at Crocus Expo.

The exhibition opened on the eve of the great anniversary – on February 9, Russian civil aviation turns 100 years old. And it just so happened that the main aviation issue of the century was import substitution.

At the plenary session of the forum, Yury Slyusar, General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation, in particular, told at what stage of work on each of its most important domestic aircraft.

NEW SUPERJET

Work on its import substitution should be completed by 2023. It’s not just about the domestic PD-8 engine. Several systems are changing. The aircraft will also have an updated fuselage (hull). What is related not only to import substitution, the comments of airlines that have already flown with Superjets have been taken into account.

MS-21

The aircraft received permission for design changes. They are associated with the installation of the Russian PD-14 engine, and the wing is now made of domestic composite materials. The remaining import substitution systems are being tested or these tests are already being completed. In 2024 – certification.

– And we hope to transfer the first six aircraft, – assured Yuri Slyusar.

TU-214

This, in fact, is still a Soviet model, it was developed in the late 80s, but it was not mass-produced. Until recently, 1-2 aircraft were manufactured per year.

Now it has been decided to do 20 a year (at first it was supposed to be 10, but it was decided to expand the program before the New Year).

– Technologically, the task is not easy. She demanded additional investments, which were allocated, – explained Slyusar.

According to him, it is planned to produce both the basic model Tu-214 and modifications. In particular, the cargo version. And shortened for flights with a longer range: in the VIP version – more than 9 thousand km, in the version for 150 passengers (instead of 210 in the “basic” 214) – up to 8 thousand km. This is important in order to ensure direct flights from the European part of the country to the Far East.

The Tu-214 was suddenly remembered for a reason. “Superjet” – short-range, MS-21 – medium-range. This, if without landing, travels up to a maximum of 6000 km.

– Already now we see great interest in this program (Tu-214 – Ed.), despite the fact that the aircraft can be conditionally attributed to the older generation, – says Yuri Slyusar. – The plane has a good flight time, the plane is reliable.

The first “old and new” Tu-214 will also be delivered to customers in 2024.
