And this despite the “new product” recommendations from online music platforms and desperate advertising on Instasamka’s own social networks. Those places that are now on the lists, “jage-jaga” in Instasamka style, were provided by their fans. In addition, Daria Zoteeva and her husband-producer provoked a powerful news cycle on the eve of the song’s release: they themselves canceled Instasamka’s concert tour across the country, and people immediately came up with the idea: ” forbidden”. They decided to cancel the concerts a long time ago, but delayed the news until the required date. If it weren’t for her, those numbers on the lists wouldn’t exist now. What is happening there?

On the night of March 2, the song “My Marmalade” performed by Instasamka took: 6th place on the VKontakte song chart; Yandex Music: 15th place; Apple Music: 70th place. Reviews of “Ruined the song of childhood” are only flowers among the critics of the young star. There is controversy on the Internet: young people praise the track, but their parents criticize it.
Recall that the author of the hit, the famous producer Maxim Fadeev, approved the new version of “jagi-jagi” by Instasamka, despite many other versions. Daria Zoteeva managed to interest the teacher in a youth reading of the song and buy the right to release an updated version.
20 years ago, Fadeev produced the album “Jaga-Jaga” for Katya Lel, and the song “My Marmalade” comes from there. In the fall of 2023, the success went viral on social media, bloggers around the world wearing hats and fur coats sang in stories, reels and TikToks: “Try mua-mua, try jaga-jaga.” The song entered the main streaming services to listen to music in the world and became the leader of the world list “50 viral trends” (Viral 50). After this, many foreign record companies approached the copyright holder. But Maxim Fadeev opted for the national artist: “After the song took off on international charts, we received more than a hundred international requests: from the USA, Germany, Great Britain, China, Brazil, Mexico, Italy and so on. Most of the negotiations ended when foreign partners understood that cooperation would be carried out with a Russian legal entity, which had to transfer remuneration for the use of copyright to the account of a Russian bank. Many said directly that their banks would not be able to send royalties or a fixed remuneration to the Russian company, wondering if we would have offshore companies or other businesses abroad. “I only do business in my own country, in Russia.”
Fadeev liked Instasamka’s version of the song. Daria sings in her characteristic way, leaving the familiar motif, characteristics and chorus of the song, replacing the words in the verses.
Katya Lel retained the right to sing her classic “jaga-jaga”, which she has been singing for 20 years. Instasamka’s version will interest the youth audience and, with the help of it, she will be able to establish herself in the charts.
So what about the concerts? A day after the release of “jagi-jagi,” Daria Zoteeva explained on her Telegram channel: “We canceled the concerts ourselves. I am not satisfied with the format of my solo concerts. I want to give you something more than before. We are preparing a show for you for the album “RICH WITCH”, which you will be able to see in early 2025. I am currently in the process of rebranding myself and myself. And I’m not talking about operations… It’s not easy or fast, I ask you to wait and give me the opportunity to do everything comfortably by myself, without rushing. After all, if you can do everything on your knees… I’ve already tried.” The Instagrammer emphasized: “There are no restrictions on performances or appearances due to the content of my music.”
