Re-entering the labor market after the age of 45 is a challenge and that is why this profile of the unemployed can access different aids such as the Active Reintegration Income (RAI) or the subsidy for people over 45 years of age.
The RAI is a last-resort aid for the unemployed who are not entitled to unemployment or unemployment benefits in Spain and who are in a situation of financial need. This subsidy has general conditions and other specific ones for the long-term unemployed. That is where age comes into play and more specifically 45 years.
That is the age from which RAI can be requested if you have been unemployed for a long time. With this aid, 80% of the Multiple Effects Public Income Indicator (IPREM) can be collected for a maximum of 11 months. In total, this equates to 480 euros per month.
RAI requirements for people over 45 years of age
The conditions to access the long-term RAI are the sum of the general requirements plus other specific ones. These are all:

Causes to lose the RAI with more than 45 years
The main cause for losing the RAI is to stop meeting the requirements to collect it. Those who do so will be temporarily unsubscribed and will reapply for the RAI later.
This is what happens if you find full-time work for a period of less than six months, even if you do it as a freelancer, if you exceed the income limit for a period of less than three months or if you go abroad to work, also for less than six months.
