Today, the Russian Airborne Forces celebrates its 93rd anniversary. The first landing of personnel took place on this day at the exercises of the Moscow Military District in 1930. Since then, the paratroopers have come a long way from separate airborne detachments in the Air Force to the service branch, which is the elite of the Armed forces.
Soldiers of the Russian Airborne Forces demonstrate daily examples of courage and heroism in the area of a special military operation.
This was stated by the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Russia Vladimir Putin in his speech: “Many generations of soldiers and officers of the legendary winged infantry have written bright and unforgettable pages in the heroic annals of the Armed Forces of our country, have Fulfilled always with dignity his duty, he remained sacredly faithful to the Oath and to the military brotherhood. Today, these military and patriotic traditions are worthily continued by paratroopers participating in a special military operation. They solve the assigned tasks with honor, show courage and courage, fortitude and unshakable character, shoulder to shoulder with their comrades defend Russia. I am convinced that they will never let them down and will continue to stand firmly on guard for the national interests of the state.”
The President wished the paratroopers “success, health and all the best.” The minister’s congratulations followed.

I am sure that the paratroopers will continue to defend the national interests of Russia with honor. I express special words of gratitude to the veterans for their impeccable selfless service and devotion to the brotherhood of paratroopers, “said Sergei Shoigu in his speech.
Today there will not be as many blue berets on the streets of the cities as in previous years. Most of the veterans of the Russian Airborne Forces are now in the zone of a special military operation in combat positions.
Risking their lives, not sparing themselves, the veterans of the “winged infantry” defeated the enemy and remained faithful to the commandment of the paratrooper: “Knocked down, fight on your knees! You can’t get up, stomp lying down! ”
