Woody Allen’s film Coup de Chance will be shown in Russian cinemas. It was called “The Great Irony” at the domestic box office. The film will be available to view from September 28. The Bulletin of the Film Distributor writes about this with reference to the Volga film company.
The main roles in the film were played by the stars of modern French cinema – Lou de Laage and Niels Schneider. In addition to them, the cast included Melville Pupo, Valerie Lemercier, and Elsa Silberstein.
This is how Woody Allen himself described the film: “This is a story of love, passion and violence, which takes place in contemporary Paris. It was filmed in the city and a bit outside. The story unfolds around a romance between two young, old friends, which turns into adultery and eventually a crime.
Coup de Chance will be the 50th film of Allen’s career. The film is being produced by Letty Aronson, the director’s younger sister, who has worked with him on many films, from Bullets Over Broadway to Rifkin’s Festival. The cinematographer is Vittorio Storaro, who directed Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now and Bernardo Bertolucci’s Last Tango in Paris.
Let’s remember that after the American director Woody Allen said that he was not going to make more films and wants to spend more time writing, his representative denied this information.
