World-class resorts will appear on Sakhalin and Altai – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Date: July 27, 2024 Time: 06:33:18

Sakhalin “Mountain Air” will soon become a world-class ski resort thanks to the implementation of the Aina Valley territory development project. Experts believe that the flow of tourists to Sakhalin will double.

“The approval of the master plan for the territory is an important stage in the development of one of the best all-season resorts in Russia,” said Valeri Limarenko, governor of the Sakhalin region. “The Aina Valley will become a modern world-class resort complex with a developed hotel infrastructure and a wide range of opportunities for active recreation. It is important that they are available all year round.”

In winter, tourists will be attracted to the ski slopes. In summer: hiking and cycling, hiking along ecological trails, routes of different difficulty.

The total length of the ski slopes will increase to 80 kilometers. Two more gondola-type passenger cable cars and an artificial snow making system will be installed on the mountain. For outdoor walks, a promenade along the Markovka River will be designed and a bicycle park will be opened.

Within the framework of the project, on 101.3 hectares of the territory of Mountain Air, the construction of 18 infrastructure facilities is planned, including hotels of various categories (3-4 stars) with 2.6 thousand rooms, as well as restaurants, cafes and a public bath complex. and a spa, outdoor summer pool.

Construction will be carried out in stages; The first tourist facility is scheduled to come into operation in 2027. As a result of the first phase of the project, almost a thousand hotel rooms will appear in the Aina Valley. Approximately the same amount will be commissioned in 2029 in the second stage. The total volume of investments is provisionally estimated at 20 billion rubles. The majority (15 billion) will go to the development of tourism infrastructure.

The undoubted advantage of “Mountain Air” is its location: the complex is located in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, not far from the city center, from the top of Mount Bolshevik you can see the city blocks and the outskirts of the regional center. This is what largely attracts ski and snowboard lovers to Sakhalin. The winter season here lasts until April, but even in the warm season there are many activities at Mountain Air, the resort is never empty.

The new resort “Belokurikha Gornaya” in the Altai Territory will now be built according to a clear master plan.

“Belokurikha Gornaya is the only resort in Russia built from scratch,” highlights the governor of the Altai Territory, Viktor Tomenko. “And the adoption of the master plan is an important step that will accelerate the construction of tourism facilities here. Today investors are already working on the site and we hope there will now be even more. The total volume of investments for the development of this territory is estimated at 17.6 billion rubles. By attracting such investments, tax revenues will also increase, meaning we will have more opportunities to develop social and engineering infrastructure across the region.

According to the master plan, the complex will receive about three thousand tourists at a time and more than 200 thousand people a year will be able to rest here. But “Belokurikha Gornaya” already receives thousands of tourists. After all, the idea of building a new complex near the popular Belokurikha came to the local sanatorium chain more than ten years ago. During this time they managed to build a beautiful winding road, carried out all communications, built a ski resort, a hotel, a restaurant, a museum and about a hundred art objects.

“The main goal of the project is to expand the capabilities of the current federal resort of Belokurikha, where sanatoriums cannot cope with the flow of tourists,” explained Evgeniy Deshevykh, head of the Department of the Altai Territory for the Development of Tourism and Business Resorts .

In total, the site of the new complex will include six zones with hotel and sanatorium complexes, two park-type hotels, an aparthotel and a family health center. It is planned to expand a radon pipeline from the Iskrovskoye reservoir here to supply radon to medical buildings.
