not to leave

The program to create a world-class campus network is being implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science together with regions and companies on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of the national Science and Universities project. According to the objectives of this project, Russia must enter among the top five countries leading developments in priority areas.

The construction of the campus is an important stage for the development of higher education in Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands. Today, most of the school’s graduates leave to receive it in other regions. With the arrival of the campus, the situation should change.

Now, on the site of the former House of Officers, they are preparing to install a temporary fence and dismantle all the remaining structures. SakhalinTech will be delivered in 2025. It will include an educational building, a scientific and laboratory block, a library, a congress hall, and public and commercial spaces with a total area of about 50,000 square meters. The dormitories will comfortably accommodate 1,800 students. The costs of the project will amount to 19.3 billion rubles.

– The goal is to give promising young people on the island the opportunity to get an education, engage in science without leaving the region. The basis of the campus will be Sakhalin State University, which has established close cooperation with the country’s leading universities, as well as research institutions in the region. In the area of special attention are developments in the field of “green energy”, climate, aquaculture and mariculture, as well as cooperation with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, – said the Governor of Valery Limarenko region.

According to the authorities, highly qualified specialists should work on Sakhalin projects. First of all, from among the residents of Sakhalin and Kuril, as well as from those who want to seriously and permanently connect their lives with the Far Eastern islands. The shift work method should be a thing of the past.

– Our university was included in the federal program to create a world-class campus network in Russia. At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a concession agreement was signed with Gazprombank and the K1 Group of Companies for the implementation of this project. Labor resources are a very important issue, especially since in the near future we will have between 15 and 20 thousand jobs in high-tech industries, the governor said.

To cover the need for specialists, personnel programs are in operation. They help residents of the region improve their skills, retrain, or gain a new specialty for a specific job.

– For example, the project “We win together” is being implemented. This is an investment in a career. A person receives an individual development plan in the labor market, a new competition, an internship and a job, – said Valeriy Limarenko.

on the island of happiness

In Buryatia, the construction of a world-class campus will begin next year. Work on the technical part of the project should be completed in the coming months.

The construction of an educational and laboratory building, an inter-university technopark and a congress center, a sports and recreation center, as well as a hostel are planned. The inter-university campus will work on popular programs in the field of IT, biopharmaceuticals, engineering, agrotechnics and creative industries.

The Sakhalin campus will be commissioned in 2025. It will include an educational building, a scientific and laboratory block, a library, a congress hall, and public and commercial spaces.

The campus will be located in Ulan-Ude on the Island of Happiness. According to the plan, an artificial land parcel connected to the mainland will be created.

– One of the problems of the republic is the departure of future young specialists. Applicants go to universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other large cities. On the one hand, they want to get a diploma, and on the other hand, they are attracted by a good educational infrastructure. Buryat universities are at a decent level. But for young people it is necessary to create more modern conditions, believes the head of the republic, Alexei Tsydenov.

The campus is also aimed at Mongolian school applicants. There is an interest in this country. In Mongolia, professionals in the fields of agriculture, veterinary medicine, health care, mechanical engineering, and construction are required. These specialties will be available on campus.

five in one

In Khabarovsk, construction of an inter-university campus on the basis of the Pacific State University will begin later this year, uniting five city universities and 30,000 students and teachers. The object will become a single scientific and educational space for the youth of the region and other regions of the country.

Various scientific and educational groups will appear in the new educational buildings: ecology and biotechnology, construction and urban studies, creative industry, humanitarian and digital technologies. They will be modern spaces for young people, with laboratories, studios, with the necessary equipment, where they can consolidate their knowledge, improve their skills and do science.

– There are eight universities in the city, but traditionally they are distributed according to their industries – there are medical and railway universities, and now our economy is integrating and there are many related studies. We are talking about new skills acquired in the training of specialists, – says Yulia Zotova, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Khabarovsk Territory.

Cooperation based on the inter-university space will provide the opportunity to launch new educational programs and broaden the range of scientific research, making it interdisciplinary.

– Universities, not only in Khabarovsk, in general in any region, are used to pursuing a fairly autonomous independent policy and rarely actively interact with each other. But those regions in which campuses are planned to be built stimulate inter-university cooperation, said Alexander Klyagin, a leading expert at the “Development of Universities” design and education laboratory of the Institute of Education of the Higher School of Economics of the National Research University.
