Yakut olonkho opera “Nyurgun Bootur” to be screened abroad for the first time – Motherland

In three cities of Kazakhstan: Astana, Petropavlovsk and Almaty, Yakutia Days will be celebrated from April 18 to 23. Within its framework, the first foreign premiere of an opera based on the local Olonjo epic “Nurgun Bootur”, directed by Andrei Borisov, will take place.

Kuanyshbaev. and the Russian National Academic Drama Theater named after M.Yu. Lermontov.

In addition, within the framework of the “Grand Tour” of the theater in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, organized by Rosconcert in accordance with the all-Russian tour and the concert plan of the Russian Ministry of Culture, a “Night of Modern Choreography” will be held on the stage of the Astana Ballet Theater, where the Yakut Opera and Ballet Theater will present the one-act performances “Geometry of Movement” and “Shining Stone”.

Jewelry lovers in Astana will be able to visit the “Treasures of Yakutia” exhibition from April 18 to May 1. Of course, Yakut films will be shown in all cities. In Astana, the book by Yakut folk poet Natalya Kharlampieva “Yakut Arrow” will also be presented and issues of the development of national literature will be discussed at an international round table.

In Almaty, a separate program will present the folklore and epic of the Sakha people. Thus, the traveling exhibition “Enchanting Sounds of the Ancestors” will be presented at the Ykhlas Museum of Popular Musical Instruments and they will meet with performers of epics from the peoples of Yakutia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

In addition, during the Yakutia Days in Kazakhstan, an action plan for the implementation of a memorandum will be signed between the government of Yakutia and the akimat of the northern region of Kazakhstan. And Yakutsk will become a sister city of the Kazakh Petropavlovsk.
