Netflix has released the official trailer for Zack Snyder’s new movie Rebel Moon. The streaming platform called the film “an epic sci-fi event decades in the making.”
The film is inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s classic film Seven Samurai and George Lucas’ Star Wars universe. It will tell the story of a group of soldiers, made up of rebels, peasants and war orphans, united by the desire to take revenge and save their home. They face the threat of the army of the tyrant Balisarius.
The main character is Cora, a mysterious stranger who assembles a new team of heroes. She becomes a peaceful colony’s main hope for survival against a brutal army. The film will be divided into two parts. The first, subtitled “Child of Fire,” will premiere on Netflix on December 22, 2023, and the second, “The Giver of Scars,” will premiere in April 2024.
Sofia Boutella plays the main role. The movie also stars Anthony Hopkins, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, and others. Snyder simultaneously acts as a director, writer, and one of the producers of the film. Curt Jonstad and Shay Hatten are also writing the script.
