Dragon Ball is one of Akira Toriyama’s most beloved franchises and is approaching its 40th anniversary since its release, and to celebrate, several mangaka have come together to redesign their favorite manga cover, and now it’s Yasuhisa’s turn, Hara , author of Kingdom.
This event, called Dragon Ball Super Gallery, hosted by Shueisha, will allow famous manga artists to contribute to the creation of their own version of one of the 42 manga covers. Each will be released every month until November 2024.
The result of Yasuhisa Hara is somewhat different from what we’re used to seeing in this entire project, as we don’t see a clear reference to any of the characters in Toriyama Sensei’s story.
Meanwhile, we can see that the re-creation of the cover of the 34th volume of the Dragon Ball manga, we see the author’s own style of the Kingdom, but nothing to do with the original.
The design is clearly somewhat different because in the original we can see Goku in different clothes than usual and on a Capsule Corporation bike, while the redesigned cover shows someone who is not identical to Saiyan on a horse and in the background we more samurai warriors can be seen. You may like it, or you may not.
